Thames Valley Road Safety Summit – 9th May 2022
Monday, March 14th, 2022
An announcement today from the Police and Crime Commissioner stated that a Road Safety Summit will be held on May 9th, bringing together highways authorities, roads policing and road users to help set a new strategy to cut road deaths.
This is a welcome initiative. Speeding is a major concern to residents of Chiltern & South Bucks, as evidenced by our surveys. Anti social behaviour by road users is also regularly cited. These are two obvious contributors to dangers on the roads. Whilst cutting road deaths is said to be the ultimate goal, safer roads and more considerate use of roads by all users would benefit residents on many ways, not least through the perception of safer neighbourhoods.
