Chiltern Community Forum met on Wednesday 21st November, at Rossetti Hall, Holmer Green.
Following review of the survey results and subsequent discussion, the following policing priorities were agreed for the coming quarter:
- Drug dealing and misuse
- Burglary
- Knife Crime

- Sergeant Roy Evans updated activity over the past 3 months on the previous neighbourhood priorities:
Burglary Prevention: Officers continue with high visibility and continue to run burglary operations made in conjunction with predictive crime trend analysis. Residents in predicted vulnerable areas are visited with crime prevention material. Train stations patrolled during peak times in order to target as many persons as possible with information, including ‘Leave a Light On’ cards given to hundreds of commuters. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras continue to be used to identify vehicles of police interest entering Chiltern area.
Drug Dealing and Usage: TVP intelligence department and “Stronghold team” working closely to help tackle serious and organised crime. Enforcement actions well up as a result of greater focus. Please see minutes for detailed numbers.
Anti-Social Behaviour: there were no major incidents of ASB reported and only a few minor incidents across Chiltern & South Bucks. During the period, 37 reports of antisocial behaviour which is a decrease of 65% for the same period last year. This was achieved through targeted hi-vis patrols at key areas, and crime prevention. - Priorities for the coming three months were agreed, as above. Anti-social behaviour was dropped partly because of difficulty in definition, partly because it tends to reduce seasonally in the winter. Knife crime was added, to encourage continued proactive prevention work. Survey numbers had been disappointingly low this time around.
- Katie Galvin (Community Safety Partnership) briefly described the £822,000 award to Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner from the Home Office Early Intervention Youth Fund.
This was a 4-tiered proposal, the first expected to reach ALL Thames Valley secondary schools, including raising awareness on county lines, knife crime/youth violence workshop sessions, and training for professionals. Further detail available in the minutes. - With large take-up of the Speedwatch scheme in the Chiltern area, there was discussion over whether it would be useful for Roads Policing to have an input at future meetings.
