Chiltern & S Bucks Policing Issues Forum 26th July 2023

The Chiltern & South Bucks Policing Issues Forum met, via MS Teams, on Wednesday 26th July, starting at 6.30pm. In addition to our normal business, it was an opportunity to discuss the reshaping of Community and Neighbourhood Policing, as proposed in the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Crimefighters strategy and Thames Valley Police’s intended restructuring. These are examined in our news post Three Important Documents.

Our survey of residents’ concerns ran from 1st to 23rd July. The 400 responses helped inform discussions at the meeting and decision making on Neighbourhood teams’ focus areas. The results are analysed in the presentation below.

It was decided that the existing focus areas of BURGLARY, SPEEDING and DRUGS should remain in place.

Once again, we offered a streamlined set of survey choices. These make the link between what residents tell us, the resulting choices of Neighbourhood Policing focus areas, and outcomes as measured by published crime stats, easier to explain and monitor.

The rationale for these changes, including categories which have been dropped, is explained in detail on our Neighbourhood Surveys page.
